Fort Lauderdale, Florida, March 2, 2023 – Hotwire Communications, the South Florida-based telecommunications company and Internet Service Provider (ISP), has once again been recognized as one of the Best Gaming ISPs for 2023 in the U.S. – All ISPs category, as well as the Best Gaming ISP in the Southeast U.S. by PCMag.
With an overall score of 8.5, Hotwire Communications received the top evaluation in the Southeast U.S., and the fourth-best evaluation in the U.S. overall, reconfirming the award-winning company’s status as one of the country’s premier providers of reliable, high-speed fiber-optic solutions.
The mainly U.S.-based publication conducts its annual evaluation to rank ISP performance by collecting and analyzing data from hundreds of thousands of user tests using their PCMag Speed Test tool, which measures the overall connection quality of an ISP’s services, with the total score reflecting the connection’s latency and jitter.
In this case, bigger isn’t always better. Gamers require a connection with minimal latency (the time it takes information to travel from its source to its destination) and minimal jitter (this checks the consistency of the latency). These two elements combined denote the quality of the connection. So, the lower the score, the higher the quality.
Hotwire Communications is no stranger to PCMag’s annual ranking of the Best Gaming ISPs, as the publication has previously recognized Hotwire multiple times as one of the fastest ISPs, with the lowest latency and jitter, in its decade-long ranking of ISPs.
“We’re incredibly honored to once again be ranked by PCMag as the Best Gaming ISP in the Southeast U.S.,” said Ron Raugh, Hotwire Communications’ VP of Engineering. “We are thrilled to know our commitment to innovation and pushing the limits of technology has resulted in a best-in-class experience for our gaming customers.”
